Student Ronald Farber made this portrait of the teacher-as-Atlas as a gift in conjunction with a faculty award. He claims it's not an exaggeration, but I have to differ with it, as I always wear socks.
The video below is a compilation of the best of our school’s animation and visual effects festival from 2005 to 2010. My own students and the work they produced in and out of my classes starts at 10:19 in the video. In particular look for examples of matchmoving, matte painting, and general compositing challenges. Among the specific types of things asked of them in my coursework included inserting themselves into a pre-1985 era movie, the results of which are often quite funny and well done.
